The Arthur Guinness Projects campaign was set up to “celebrate the next chapter of Irish talent and creativity”. It’s a great way for Guinness to get some really positive media attention, but it also provides support and a great little opportunity for people all over Ireland with a great ideas that just need a leg up to get started. You could be awarded a bursary of up to €50,000, as well as invaluable advice and mentoring to help you turn your dream into reality.
But hurry because you only have a few days left to submit your ideas. Project submissions are accepted online until the 9th of August and after this date public voting will continue until the 26th of August. After this date, short listed entries will be brought before the judging panel.
Guinness have tried to cover the areas that are really excelling in Ireland at the moment with their category choices – Music, Sport, Food and the Arts and there are already numerous projects up and being voted for. Their promo video encourages people not to just sit at home with their great idea – get out there with it and get it online – you never know, it may just be the next big thing!
It was a pity to see that they didn’t decide to feature any women in their video about the competition, but it will be wonderful to see how many wonderful female entrepreneurs will undoubtedly be shortlisted as there are already a few in the running.
If you’d like to vote for a project to get through to the next round, submit your own idea or just find out a little more about it, you’ll find tips, info and more on their website here.
