French, it’s the language of love both by the things we associate it with and because it is actually technically a ‘Romance language’. We associate its slick sounds with food, wine and all things cultural. It’s famous for being one of the sexiest languages out there and when you hear it spoken well, it would be hard to disagree with that. But it’s more than that. It’s also deemed to be one of the most useful languages. It is an official language of all United Nations agencies and of a large number of international organisations, including the European Union, NATO, WTO, and the IOC. In 2011, French was deemed by Bloomberg Businessweek to be one of the top three most useful languages for business, behind English and Chinese, but ahead of Spanish. [Source]
