Certified Translations from English to Russian and from Russian to English

Having successfully passed the exam in 2008 I was granted the status of the Certified (English <> Russian) Translator by the Irish Translators’ and Interpreters’ Association and have a lot of experience in translating various documents. The title was revised by the ITIA in 2016 and changed to “ITIA Certified Legal Translator” to better reflect the predominance of legal work carried out by certified translators in Ireland for the courts, solicitors, companies, private persons etc.

With the ITIA Executive Committee in 2016. I have served on the ITIA certification sub-committee from 2010 to 2016.

How is a certified translation different from a simple document translation? A certified translation bears the stamp and signature of the certified translator with a statement confirming that the translation is a true, accurate and correct rendering of the original document submitted for translation. A translator who certifies the accuracy of a translation carries full responsibility for making such a statement. Certified Russian text translations always require greatest care and attention. ITIA Certified Legal Translators may only certify their own translations and only in the language pair for which they are certified. The ITIA certification is automatically renewed every two years.

Things you need to know when ordering a certified translation

Make sure you have an original document or its certified copy before ordering a certified translation. A certified copy can be obtained in a notary’s office for small fee or free of charge at a police station in Ireland.

Bear in mind I cannot change, omit or correct the content of the original document in the target language.

The proper names on the documents are translated in accordance with the official spelling in the identification documents.

If you plan to present the translated document abroad, you might need an Apostille stamp. Find out more about document authentication in Ireland.
